Your password, PIN and notifications in My account

Change your own password and PIN, choose your notifications, turn on alerts on your phone, get your day by email, and manage two-step sign-in and passkeys.

Settings → My account is your own corner of FullColumn: how you sign in, and what FullColumn tells you about. Everyone on the team has it, whatever their permissions, and changes here only affect you.

Opening My account

Choose your name at the bottom of the menu, then My account. It's in Settings too. If you don't have permission for any other part of Settings, it's the only section you'll see.

Signed in as at the top shows your name, your email and your access (owner, manager or staff).

Choosing your notifications

Under Notifications, choose what FullColumn tells you about straight away:

Setting What you hear about
Online bookings New online bookings and booking requests, and changes or cancellations clients make with their booking link. Off, My appointments, or The whole salon (for people with "Book and change other team members' appointments").
Client replies A client texts back, or asks to change or cancel from their booking link, and someone needs to read it.
Forms with answers to check A consultation form flags something, like an allergy.
Feedback A feedback form comes in with flagged answers, or any when the form says so: Off, My appointments, or The whole salon. Only shown if you can "See clients’ feedback".
Gift vouchers bought online Someone buys a gift voucher from your booking page.

Then choose how: On my phone or computer (on each device where you've turned alerts on) and By email (to the email on your profile). Choose Save changes when you're done.

Until you change something, you get your salon's defaults, which an owner or manager sets in Settings → Team alerts. Use the salon's defaults goes back to them. See team alerts.

Turning on alerts on a phone or computer

Alerts show up like a text message, even when FullColumn isn't open. Tapping one opens the booking or message.

  1. On the phone or computer you want alerts on, open Settings → My account.
  2. Under Phones and computers, choose Turn on alerts on this device, and allow notifications when the browser asks.
  3. Choose Send a test to check it works.

Each device you've turned on is listed with when it last got an alert. Turn off here stops alerts on the device you're using, and the bin button removes another one. If notifications are blocked, allow them for FullColumn in the browser's site settings first. On an iPhone or iPad, add FullColumn to your Home Screen first and turn alerts on from there: see using FullColumn on phones and tablets.

On a shared salon device, your own alerts aren't offered (they'd pop up for whoever's using it). Shared devices can have alerts of their own: see shared devices, PINs and Front desk.

Getting your day by email each morning

Under Morning day sheet, Email me my day each morning sends your appointments for the day to your email, so you have them even if the internet is down. It goes at the time your salon sets in Team alerts, and nothing comes on days you have nothing booked and no notes or to-dos just for you.

See, print or email my day shows any day's sheet, ready to print or email to yourself. Recent emails to you are listed underneath. You need an email address on your profile: if there isn't one, ask a manager to add it.

Monthly stats by email

People with "See reports for the whole salon" also have Monthly stats: Email me last month's numbers sends takings, appointments, new clients, rebooking and more on the 1st of each month, next to the month before and the same month last year. See last month's shows them now.

Setting or changing your PIN

Your PIN is for switching user on the salon's shared devices, like the front desk iPad.

  1. Under Set a PIN (or Change your PIN), enter Your password. If you sign in with a PIN only, enter Your current PIN instead.
  2. Enter a PIN of 4 to 6 digits. Obvious ones like 1111, 1234 or 4321 aren't allowed.
  3. Choose Set PIN (or Change PIN).

Remove PIN takes it away and signs you out of any shared device you're on. It's only there if you also have a password, so you can still sign in. Whoever manages the team can also set and clear PINs: see shared devices, PINs and Front desk.

Changing your password

  1. Under Change password, enter your Current password.
  2. Enter a New password of at least 8 characters.
  3. Choose Change password.

You stay signed in where you are, and every other device you're signed in on is signed out. Browsers you'd trusted for two-step sign-in ask for a code again. Forgotten your current password? Sign out and use Forgot password?: see signing in.

If you work at more than one salon, each has its own password for you: changing it here changes it for this salon only.

Two-step sign-in

Two-step sign-in near the bottom of My account turns it on or off, makes new recovery codes, moves it to a new phone, and forgets trusted browsers. It's shown to everyone who signs in with an email and password. See two-step sign-in.

Passkeys

Passkeys at the bottom of My account lists your passkeys, with when each was added and last used. Add a passkey (after your password) lets you sign in with Face ID, your fingerprint or your device's screen lock instead of your email, password and code, and Remove stops one working. It's shown to everyone who signs in with an email and password, and passkeys can't be added on a shared salon device. See signing in with a passkey.

Changing your name or email

My account doesn't change your name, email or calendar colour. Ask whoever manages your salon's team ("Manage the team, permissions and PINs") to change them in Settings → Team & roster. Changing your email changes what you sign in with.

Common questions

Why don't I see Change password?

You don't sign in with an email and password, only a PIN on the salon's shared device. Ask whoever manages the team to add your email and send you an invite to choose a password.

I turned on alerts but nothing arrives

Choose Send a test. If it doesn't arrive, check notifications are allowed for FullColumn on that device, and that On my phone or computer is switched on under Notifications. A device that stopped accepting alerts is removed from your list: turn them on there again.

Can I get alerts from two salons?

Yes. Turn alerts on in each salon's Settings → My account, on the same phone. Turning them off in one salon leaves the other's alone.

Does my PIN work on my own phone?

No. PINs only work on the salon's shared devices. On your own phone or computer, sign in with your email and password.
