Marketing report: what your campaigns brought in

See how many marketing texts and emails went out, how many clients booked within 14 days of getting one, and what those bookings are worth.

Reports → Marketing shows how your campaigns and automatic marketing did: how many messages went out, how many clients booked afterwards, and what those bookings are worth. It needs "See reports for the whole salon" (owners and managers to start with). Choose the dates the messages were sent in at the top, as for any report.

What the Marketing report shows

The top of the Marketing report adds up every campaign and automatic marketing message sent in the dates:

Figure What it is
Messages sent Texts and emails that went out, with how many weren't delivered.
Clients reached Different clients who got at least one. A client sent a text and an email counts once.
Clients who booked Clients who made a booking within 14 days after getting one, and their share of clients reached.
Booked value What those bookings are booked at, less any promo code discount, and how many bookings.

By campaign and automatic message has a row for each: campaigns first (newest first, with the date sent), then each automatic message (Welcome new clients, Birthday wishes, Not seen for a while, After the visit, Time to rebook). Each shows Sent, Clients, Booked (with its share of clients) and Value. The icon beside each says whether it went by text, email or both. All marketing is the total.

Only marketing is counted here: reminders, confirmations, one-off messages and feedback requests aren't. See marketing campaigns and automatic marketing.

How a booking is counted for a message

On the Marketing report, a booking counts for a message when the client made it within 14 days after getting the message:

  • Only bookings made after the message. An appointment the client already had doesn't count.
  • The most recent message gets the credit. When someone got more than one before booking, the latest one counts it, so nothing is counted twice.
  • Bookings that go ahead. Cancelled and missed bookings don't count. A booking request counts once it's approved.
  • Bookings brought across from your old booking system never count.

Value is what those bookings are booked at, less any promo code discount, whenever the appointment is.

This shows who booked after a message, not that the message made them book: some would have booked anyway.

Recent messages are still being counted

Clients have 14 days after a message to book, so for messages sent in the last 14 days, the Marketing report says "Bookings are still being counted for messages sent in the last 14 days, so these numbers can still go up." Look again after two weeks for the final figures.

Common questions

Why does a campaign I sent today show no bookings?

Clients have 14 days to book after getting it. Bookings show as they're made.

A client booked the day before my campaign went out. Does it count?

No. Only bookings made after the message count.

Why are bookings counted for my birthday message and not my campaign?

The client got both, and booked after the birthday message, the more recent one. Each booking counts for one message only.

Does the booked value mean money I've taken?

Not yet. It's what the bookings are booked at. The money is counted in your takings when each appointment is checked out.

Why don't messages that failed count as sent?

Sent only counts texts and emails that went out. The ones that didn't are shown as not delivered. See how texts and emails are sent.
