Seeing who did what in the activity log
The activity log lists everything done in your salon, newest first, with who did it and when. Filter it by person or by kind.
FullColumn notes what happens in your salon as it happens: appointments booked, moved and deleted, checkouts, refunds and voids, deposits and account credit, deleted notes and photos, removed clients, shared devices and sign-in changes, downloads, and FullColumn support signing in. Settings → Activity log shows it all in one place, newest first, with who did it and when.
Who can see the activity log
The activity log needs the permission "See the activity log (who did what in the salon, and when)". Only owners have it to start with; an owner can give it to someone else (see roles and permissions). On a Front desk device it asks for your password first. FullColumn support can never see it.
Reading the activity log
Open Settings → Activity log. Each line has:
- When: the day ("Today", "Yesterday", or the date) and the time.
- Who: the team member's name, FullColumn support, Client for something a client did themselves (booking or cancelling online, confirming by text, updating their details in the client area), or System for something FullColumn did on its own, like an automatic refund or a booking request that ran out of time.
- What happened, like "Took a deposit" or "Deleted an appointment", with its details underneath.
- The client and the appointment it's about, when there is one. Choose either to open it. They're left off once the appointment has been deleted or the client removed for good, but the line stays.
The latest 100 lines show first. Choose Show more at the bottom for older ones.
Filtering the activity log by person or kind
Use the two lists at the top:
- Everyone, or one team member (past team members too), or FullColumn support.
- Everything, or one kind:
| Kind | What's in it |
|---|---|
| Appointments | Booking, changing, moving, confirming, cancelling and deleting appointments, and answering booking requests. |
| Clients | Deleted notes, colour formulas and photos, merging, removing and restoring clients, and clients' own changes. |
| Sales & money | Checkouts, voids, refunds, deposits, account credit, gift vouchers sold online, saved cards, petty cash, cash-ups. |
| Team & devices | Shared devices, two-step sign-in, passwords, commission changes, and support access. |
| Downloads & imports | Each Download everything download, and appointments brought in from another system. |
| Other | Anything else, like promo code changes and services archived after their last day. |
What the activity log keeps after something is deleted
Deleting doesn't take the log's lines with it. A deleted appointment's line says when it was and what was booked ("Mon, 7 Jan 2030 10:00am: Cut with Mia Stylist"). A deleted note or colour formula keeps the first 300 characters of what it said, and a removed client keeps their name.
Changes to one appointment are also in its History (appointment history), and the whole log is in a full download of your data.
Common questions
Who deleted this appointment?
Open Settings → Activity log, choose Appointments, and look for "Deleted an appointment" around the time it went. The line says who deleted it, when the appointment was, and its services.
Can I see what FullColumn support did?
Yes. Choose FullColumn support in the first list: every sign-in (with who it was and why) and every change they made. See security and FullColumn support access.
Can anyone change or delete the activity log?
No. Nobody can edit or remove its lines, owners included.
Why can't I see Activity log in Settings?
It needs "See the activity log (who did what in the salon, and when)", which only owners have to start with. Ask your salon's owner.
Why do client phone numbers show as dots?
Someone who can see the log but not "See clients’ phone numbers and email addresses" sees numbers and emails in it hidden, as everywhere else (contact details and privacy). Commission changes are pay: without "See and change pay and commission", the line says commission was changed but not whose or to what (commission rates).
