Your online booking page

Your salon's booking page: its address, sharing it, a Book now button for your website, links to one service, and pausing online booking.

Every FullColumn salon has its own booking page, where your clients pick their services, a stylist and a time from your real availability, then book in on their phone or computer. It's ready as soon as you sign up: share the link and clients can book while you're busy at the chair.

Finding your booking page address

Your booking page is at book.fullcolumn.com/your-salon, where "your-salon" is the address you chose when you signed up. To find it:

  1. Open Settings → Online booking.
  2. Under Your booking page, the link is in the box at the top. Copy copies it, and Open shows the page as your clients see it.

The address can't be changed in Settings. Your clients' booking links, form links and gift vouchers all live under the same address.

Sharing your booking page

Put your booking page link anywhere clients find you: your Instagram bio, your Google Business Profile, your Facebook page, your website and your email signature. It works on any phone or computer, and clients don't need an account or a password to book.

Your booking page link also goes out in the messages FullColumn sends for you: a cancellation message and a declined booking request both include a link to book again.

Adding a Book now button to your website

FullColumn gives you a ready-made Book now button to paste into your website:

  1. Open Settings → Online booking.
  2. Under "Book now" button for your website, press Copy button code.
  3. Paste the code into your site builder wherever you'd like the button (most builders have an "HTML" or "Embed code" block).

The button is a dark rounded button that says Book now and opens your booking page in a new tab. If your site builder has its own button style, you can use that instead and link it to your booking page address.

Linking straight to a service or bundle

You can share a link that opens your booking page with a service or bundle already chosen, so clients go straight to picking a time. It's handy for an Instagram post about a new treatment or a special.

  1. Open Settings → Services.
  2. Press the link button (Copy booking link) next to the service or bundle. Opening a bundle shows its Booking link too.
  3. Paste the link wherever you're sharing it.

The link button only shows for active services and bundles that are bookable online. The link goes straight to the times with whoever does it (or the one person who does); a client who wants a particular stylist can go back to the services and continue from there. A promo code can be built into a booking link too: see promo codes.

What shows on your booking page

Your booking page shows what you've set up elsewhere in FullColumn:

  • Your salon's name, logo and look, from branding, with your address (and a Directions link), your phone number and today's opening hours. Clients can tap the hours to see the whole week. Hours only show once you've set them in opening hours.
  • Your services, by category, with their descriptions, lengths and prices. A service shows when it's active, Bookable online is on for it, and at least one team member who's bookable online does it (your service menu). A special only shows while one of its days is within the time clients can book ahead.
  • Bundles and add-ons, if you have them (bundles, add-ons).
  • Your team, when clients can choose their stylist. A team member shows when Takes appointments and Bookable online are both on for them in Settings → Team & roster, with their job title and short bio.
  • Prices as your clients will pay them. If your prices are set before tax (Tax is added at checkout in Settings → Business), the booking page adds the tax to every price it shows. Where stylists charge different prices (price levels), clients see the range, then each stylist's own price.
  • Your welcome message, if you've written one (wording).
  • A Buy a gift voucher link when you sell gift vouchers online, and Manage your bookings when the client area is on.
  • While your salon is setting up, a note that you're still setting up your booking page and that clients won't get a confirmation or reminder by text or email yet (trying FullColumn before you switch over).

The times offered come from each team member's hours, roster and blocked time, and your online booking rules.

Pausing online booking

To stop taking online bookings for a while (over the holidays, say, or while you're setting up):

  1. Open Settings → Online booking.
  2. Turn off Accept online bookings.
  3. Press Save changes.

While online booking is paused:

  • Your booking page shows your salon's name and "Online booking is paused at the moment. Please call us on" your phone number.
  • Clients can't book or move appointments online. They can still open their booking link to see their appointment, confirm it, add it to their calendar, and cancel it if it's outside your changes and cancellations cutoff.
  • The client area and gift voucher shop keep working at their own addresses if they're on, without the links to book.
  • Your team can still book appointments in the calendar as usual.

Turn Accept online bookings back on and press Save changes to open it again. To close for particular days instead, block the time out on the calendar (blocked time and closures): the booking page offers no times on a day the salon is closed.

Who can change online booking settings

Settings → Online booking needs the permission Change salon settings (hours, online booking, messages, branding). Owners have every permission, and managers have this one unless you've changed it (roles and permissions). On a shared Front desk device, the page asks for the person's password first.

Common questions

Do clients need an account to book online?

No. Clients book with their name, email and (unless you've turned it off) their mobile. If you turn on the client area, returning clients can also sign in with a code instead of typing their details.

Why isn't a service showing on my booking page?

Check that the service is active and Bookable online is on in Settings → Services, and that at least one team member who's Bookable online does it. A special only shows while one of its days falls within how far ahead clients can book.

Why isn't a stylist showing on my booking page?

In Settings → Team & roster, check that Takes appointments and Bookable online are both on for them, and that they do the services the client picked. If Let clients choose their stylist is off in Settings → Online booking, nobody's name shows: FullColumn picks who's free.

A client says there are no times. What's wrong?

The booking page only offers times inside a team member's hours that day, clear of their appointments, breaks and blocked time, and within your minimum notice and how far ahead clients can book. Check the stylist's hours and roster, and your online booking rules. When nobody does every service picked, the page tells them to book them separately, whether clients choose their stylist or FullColumn does.

A client says the booking page won't let them book any more. Why?

To stop misuse, one internet connection can make up to 8 online bookings an hour. After that the page says "Too many bookings from this connection. Please call us instead." It resets within the hour, and your team can always book them in the calendar.

Are times shown in my client's time zone?

No. Times are always your salon's local time, the same as your calendar.
