Signing up and your free trial

Sign your salon up for FullColumn, choose its address, and see what the free trial includes and what happens when it ends.

Every salon starts with a free trial of 14 days, with everything included and no card needed. Signing up takes a minute: you choose your salon's address, and FullColumn sets up your staff app and booking page straight away.

Signing up for FullColumn

  1. Go to app.fullcolumn.com/signup, or choose Start your free trial on the FullColumn website.
  2. Enter your Salon name.
  3. Check Your salon's address. It follows your salon's name as you type, and you can change it.
  4. Enter Your name, your Email and a Password of at least 8 characters. You'll sign in with this email and password.
  5. Choose your Country and Timezone.
  6. Leave Start with a typical hair salon menu ticked to begin with a service menu you can edit, or untick it to start with none.
  7. Leave I take appointments myself ticked if you do: it gives you a column on the calendar. Untick it if you only run the salon.
  8. Tick to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  9. Choose Create my salon.

You're signed in to your new salon's staff app straight away, on its calendar. When you import from your old booking system, you can keep texts and emails to your team until you switch over, so you can try everything on your real clients first (trying FullColumn before you switch over).

Choosing your salon's address

Your salon's address is part of every FullColumn link: your booking page is book.fullcolumn.com/your-address, and your staff app is app.fullcolumn.com/your-address. It's in the links your clients get by text and email too.

  • It's 3 to 40 lowercase letters, numbers and single hyphens, with no spaces, starting and ending with a letter or number.
  • Under the box, sign-up says whether the address is free ("…is available") or taken. Some everyday words, like "book" or "salon", are kept for FullColumn itself.
  • A short address that matches your salon's name is easiest for clients to type, like "halo" for Halo Hair Studio.

Settings has no option to change your address later, so choose it with care.

Countries you can sign up from

FullColumn is open for sign-up in Australia for now. Choose any other country under Another country… and the page becomes Join the waitlist instead:

  1. Enter your Salon name, Your name and Email.
  2. Choose your Country, and add your City (optional).
  3. Enter How many people take appointments? (everyone with a column on the calendar, you included).
  4. Choose Join the waitlist.

FullColumn emails you once, when it comes to your country, and uses your details for nothing else. The email has a link that takes you off the waitlist and deletes your details.

What's ready when you first sign in

  • Your settings, from your country. Your currency, tax (GST at 10% in Australia, with prices that include it), date format and timezone are set for you. Check them in business details, tax and region.
  • A starter service menu (if you kept it ticked): cuts, colours, styling and treatments, with processing times on colour services. The prices are only examples: change them in your service menu.
  • Your column on the calendar (if you take appointments), with a typical week of hours to change to your own.
  • Your email as the salon's email, where replies to your salon's emails go. You can change it in Settings → Business.
  • A "Set up your calendar" bar on the calendar, with your opening hours, your own hours and Add team member. See setting up your salon.

What's included in the free trial

  • Every feature, for 14 days from when you sign up.
  • 50 texts in total, for reminders, confirmations and any other texts. Emails don't use them.
  • No card: you only give one when you choose your plan.

Once the trial's texts are used up, no more texts go until the trial ends with a plan chosen. Emails keep going. Settings → Plan & billing shows how many you've used under Texts this month.

Choosing your plan before the trial ends

The owner can choose a plan at any time in Settings → Plan & billing, and nothing is charged until the trial ends. See your plan and billing for how.

In the trial's last 5 days, a banner across the top of the staff app tells whoever can manage billing when it ends, with Choose your plan. The rest of the team doesn't see it.

When the free trial ends

If the trial ends without a plan, your salon becomes read-only:

  • Your team can still sign in, look things up and export, and the owner can download everything.
  • Nothing can be changed, and no reminders or other messages go.
  • Your booking page shows online booking as paused.

Choosing a plan in Settings → Plan & billing unlocks everything straight away. Nothing you entered during the trial is lost. See what happens when your salon is read only.

Common questions

Do I need a card to start the free trial?

No. You give a card only when you choose your plan, and nothing is charged until the trial ends.

Does choosing a plan early give me more texts?

No. The trial's 50 texts last until the trial ends, even with a plan chosen. Your monthly bundle starts with your first paid month.

My salon is in another country. Can I still sign up?

Not yet. Join the waitlist on the sign-up page and FullColumn will email you once it opens in your country.

I work at another salon on FullColumn already. Can I sign up my own?

Yes. Sign up with the same email if you like. When you sign in at app.fullcolumn.com, FullColumn asks which salon you want. See signing in.

The link that signs you in after signing up works once, for a few minutes. Sign in with the email and password you just chose instead.
