Business details, tax and region
Your salon's name, logo, phone, email and address, its country, timezone, currency and date format, and how tax (GST) works on prices and receipts.
Settings → Business holds your salon's details (shown to clients on your booking page, receipts and messages), its region (country, timezone, currency and formats), how tax works, and the message at the bottom of receipts.
Changing these needs the permission "Change salon settings (hours, online booking, messages, branding)". Owners have every permission, and managers have this one unless it's taken off them.
Salon details: name, logo, phone, email, address and website
| Field | Where it's used |
|---|---|
| Salon name | Everywhere your clients see you: your booking page, their texts and emails (as {business}), receipts, and the name your emails come from. Also at the top of the staff app's menu. |
| Logo | Beside your salon's name in FullColumn, and at the top of your booking page and the links clients get. A PNG with a see-through background works best. Upload logo adds one; Change logo and Remove change it. |
| Phone | On your booking page and clients' pages, in messages as {business_phone}, and wherever clients are told to call, like "Online booking is paused at the moment. Please call us on…". |
| Client replies to your emails (confirmations, reminders, receipts) go here, so make it one email address you check. It starts as the email you signed up with. Left blank, your emails still go, but replies can't reach you. Clients see it when you have no phone number. | |
| Address | On your booking page, with Directions that open Google Maps, and on clients' pages. |
| Website | A link under your salon's name on your booking page. It's the same as the Website under Online booking's links. |
| Google review link | Your Google review page, starting with https://: {review_link} in the After the visit message, and the review button on a form's thank-you page (adding your Google review link). |
Your logo can also be changed under Settings → Online booking, with the rest of your branding.
Adding your Google review link
Your Google review link takes clients straight to leaving your salon a review on Google. It lives with your business details, so every message and form that uses it gets the same one.
- In your Google Business Profile, choose "Ask for reviews" and copy the link.
- Open Settings → Business and paste it into Google review link, under Website.
- Choose Save changes.
It has to be a full web address starting with https://, like https://g.page/r/…/review. Anything else isn't saved: "The Google review link should be a full web address starting with https://". Clear the box to remove it. While the After the visit message (or another automatic message) is on with {review_link} in it, clearing the link isn't saved: "After the visit (Messages → Automations) uses {review_link}: switch it off, or take the link out of it, first".
FullColumn uses it in two places:
- The After the visit message (Messages → Automations) puts it wherever its wording has
{review_link}. A message with{review_link}in it can't be switched on until the link is set (asking for a Google review after a visit). - Thank-you pages: a button on a form's thank-you page can link to Your Google review link. Until the link is set, that button doesn't show (feedback forms).
A change here applies straight away to both, forms already sent included.
Choosing your country, timezone and currency
The Region section starts with Country. Choosing a country fills in its currency, tax, date format and main timezone, and a note under it says what changed. Check the rest and change anything that's different for you. For a country that isn't listed, choose Somewhere else and pick the timezone and currency yourself.
- Timezone matters most: reminders, online booking, and what counts as "today" all use it. Australia's choices are named by city, like "Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra (AEST)" or "Brisbane (no daylight saving)".
- Currency is how prices and amounts show throughout FullColumn.
Changing the timezone doesn't move appointments: each stays at the time it was booked for. If you choose another country, the note may also say texts still read local mobile numbers with your old country code: change Country code for local numbers in Settings → Reminders & SMS to match (see how texts and emails are sent).
Date and time formats and the first day of the week
- Date & number format: how dates and numbers are written, by country, with an example under it.
- Week starts on: Monday, Sunday or Saturday. The week view, the hours editors and weekly team targets all follow it.
- 2:30pm or 14:30: 12-hour or 24-hour times.
Setting up tax (GST)
The Tax section has:
- Tax name: what your tax is called, like GST. It's on receipts and reports.
- Rate: as a percentage, like 10 for Australian GST. With a rate of 0, receipts show no tax line.
- Tax number (optional): printed on receipts and purchase orders after your tax's name, like "GST no. 12 345 678 901". In Australia, enter your ABN.
Each sale keeps the tax worked out when it was made, so changing the rate only affects sales from then on.
Prices that include tax or have tax added
Choose how the prices you enter work:
- Prices include tax: the price you set is what the client pays, with the tax inside it. Most Australian salons use this.
- Tax is added at checkout: the price you set is before tax, and checkout adds the tax on top.
Either way, clients always see prices with tax on your booking page: with Tax is added at checkout, your booking page adds the tax to each price, and online deposits and payments are worked out on that total. The staff app shows prices as you set them.
The message at the bottom of receipts
Under Receipts, Message at the bottom of receipts is printed at the end of every receipt, printed or emailed. New salons start with "Thank you for visiting!". Use it for your returns policy, a rebooking reminder or your social handle. See checking out a client for receipts.
Saving your business details
Changes to Settings → Business aren't saved until you choose Save changes on the You have unsaved changes bar. Discard puts everything back as it was saved.
Common questions
Can I change my salon's address (the link to my booking page)?
Not in Settings. Your salon's address is chosen at sign-up and is part of every link you've shared and every link in clients' messages. See your booking page.
Why are my reminders going out at the wrong time?
Check Timezone in Settings → Business → Region. Reminders and online booking use your salon's timezone, not the one on your computer.
I'm in Australia. Do I enter my ABN as the tax number?
Yes. It's printed on receipts as your tax number, after the tax's name.
My booking page shows different prices from the staff app
That happens when Tax is added at checkout is chosen: the booking page always shows prices with tax added, while the staff app shows the prices you set, before tax.
Does changing the currency change what I pay FullColumn?
No. Currency only changes how amounts show in your salon. Your FullColumn plan is billed in Australian dollars: see your plan and billing.
