Signing in, switching salons and resetting your password
Sign in to FullColumn with your email and password, choose your password from an invite, switch between salons, and get a new password if you forget it.
Everyone on a salon's team signs in with their own email and a password they chose themselves. If you work at more than one salon on FullColumn, one sign-in finds them all. On the salon's shared iPad or front desk computer, the team usually switches with a PIN instead: see shared devices, PINs and Front desk.
Signing in with your email and password
- Go to app.fullcolumn.com (or open FullColumn from your Home Screen).
- Enter your Email and Password.
- Choose Sign in.
- If you use two-step sign-in, enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
You land in your salon's staff app, at app.fullcolumn.com/your-salon. Next time you open app.fullcolumn.com, it takes you straight back to the salon you used last while you're still signed in there.
If the email and password don't match, the page says "That email and password don't match". Check for a typo, or use Forgot password?.
Signing in with a passkey instead
If you've added a passkey in Settings → My account, choose Sign in with a passkey under the form (or pick your passkey from the Email field's suggestions) and confirm it's you with Face ID, your fingerprint or your device's PIN. There's no password or two-step code, and if you're at more than one salon, the passkey you choose decides which. See signing in with a passkey.
Working at more than one salon
If your email is on the team at several salons, signing in at app.fullcolumn.com checks your password at each of them:
- One salon matches: you go straight in.
- Several match: the page asks Which salon? Choose one. You can switch any time from the menu.
Each salon keeps its own password for you, so if you chose different passwords at different salons, you only see the salons whose password you typed. On the Which salon? screen, Use a different email takes you back to the form. Further down the sign-in page, Already signed in on this browser lists the salons you can open without signing in again.
Switching between salons
Next to your salon's name at the top of the menu, open the salon menu (the arrow beside the name, or your salon's icon when the menu shows icons only):
- Your booking page opens your booking page in a new tab, as clients see it.
- Salons lists the salons this browser knows you're on, with the one that's Open now ticked.
- A salon showing your name opens straight away. One showing Sign in opens its own sign-in page.
- Sign in to another salon goes back to the sign-in page.
Switching never signs you out anywhere: each salon keeps its own sign-in in your browser. The salon menu isn't shown on a shared salon device.
Signing in on your salon's own page
Your salon's address, app.fullcolumn.com/your-salon, has its own sign-in page with your salon's name and logo on it. It works just like app.fullcolumn.com, for that salon only. Not your salon? Sign in to yours takes you to the main sign-in page.
Choosing your password from an invite
When someone adds you to the team with your email, you get an email: "You're on the team at (salon): choose your password".
- Open the link in the email. It works once, for 7 days.
- Type a Password of at least 8 characters, and Type it again.
- Choose Save and sign in.
You're signed in, after setting up two-step sign-in if your salon asks for it. From then on, sign in with that email and password.
If the link has run out or was already used, the page says so. Ask whoever manages your salon's team to send another from Settings → Team & roster: see adding team members. Each new link stops the earlier ones working.
Forgot your password?
- On the sign-in page, choose Forgot password?.
- Enter the email you sign in with, and choose Email me a link.
- Open the link in the email (it works once, for 60 minutes), choose a new password and Save new password.
From the main sign-in page at app.fullcolumn.com, each salon you're on the team at sends its own link. From a salon's own sign-in page, only that salon does. The page answers the same way whether or not the email is on a team, so it never tells anyone who works where.
Nothing after a few minutes? Check your junk folder, or ask whoever manages your salon's team to send you a link. Setting a new password with a link signs you out everywhere else.
Staying signed in and signing out
- On your own phone or computer you stay signed in for 30 days, and each time you use FullColumn that's renewed, so regular users rarely sign in again.
- On a shared salon device, a sign-in lasts a working day at most, and the device locks when it isn't being used.
- To sign out, choose your name at the bottom of the menu, then Sign out. Signing out also turns off alerts on that browser, so the next person there doesn't see yours.
- Changing your password in Settings → My account signs you out on every other device.
Too many wrong passwords
After several wrong passwords for the same email (or from the same place) in a short time, sign-in pauses: "Too many wrong passwords. Please wait 15 minutes and try again." A right password doesn't count towards it, so a busy front desk never locks itself out. Forgot password? has a limit too: a few links an hour for each email.
Signing in on a shared salon device
A salon iPad or front desk computer can be set up as a shared device, so team members tap their name and enter a PIN instead of typing a password. It locks itself when nobody's used it for a while (the salon chooses how long), or when someone taps the lock beside their name. Use email and password on its lock screen signs in with a password instead. See shared devices, PINs and Front desk.
To set up a new shared device, choose Set up a shared device on the sign-in page and enter your salon's address and the code from Settings → Team & roster → Shared devices.
Common questions
I never got my invite email
Check your junk folder. Invites work for 7 days. Ask whoever manages the team to open your name in Settings → Team & roster and choose Send again (or Send invite once the first one has run out). They can also copy the link and text it to you.
Can someone set my password for me?
No. In FullColumn nobody sets a password for someone else. You always choose your own with a link from your email.
I work at two salons. Do I need two accounts?
You're on each salon's team separately, with the same email if you like, and each salon has its own password and two-step sign-in for you. Sign in once at app.fullcolumn.com and switch from the menu.
Why does my sign-in say it timed out?
The steps after your password (choosing a salon, entering a two-step code) have to be finished within a few minutes. Enter your email and password again.
I can't sign in at all
Check you're using the email your salon has for you. If you've left a salon's team, or someone turned off Can sign in for you, you can't sign in there. Ask the salon's owner or manager.
