# Security and FullColumn support access

> Let FullColumn support sign in to your salon to help, for as long as you choose, see every time they did and why, and stop it any time.

Source: https://docs.fullcolumn.com/settings/security

FullColumn's support team can only see inside your salon when you let them in. **Settings → Security** is where you allow it for a few days, take it back, and see every time support signed in and why.

## Who can manage support access

**Settings → Security** needs the permission "Let FullColumn support sign in to help". Owners have it; managers don't unless an owner gives it to them. On a Front desk device it asks for your password first.

## Letting FullColumn support sign in

When you've asked FullColumn for help and they need to look at your salon:

1. Open **Settings → Security**.
2. Under **FullColumn support access**, choose how long next to **Let FullColumn support sign in for**: 1, 3, 7, 14 or 30 days.
3. Choose **Allow**.

The page then says "FullColumn support can sign in until (date and time)", and who allowed it. Allowing it again replaces the time you gave before, counting from now.

## What FullColumn support can and can't do

While you allow it, someone from FullColumn support can sign in to your salon to help. Each time:

- They sign in as **FullColumn support**, with a one-time link. They never see or use your password, and support has no PIN.
- They stay signed in for an hour at most, and never past the end of the time you allowed.
- They can see and change what a manager can, so changes they make show as made by FullColumn support.
- They're never on the calendar or in your team list, and they don't count towards your plan.

Support can never:

- manage your team, permissions, PINs or shared devices,
- connect Stripe or change payment and SMS settings,
- change your FullColumn plan or billing,
- charge saved cards, give refunds, or change clients' account credit,
- see pay and commission,
- download a copy of your salon's data,
- see the [activity log](https://docs.fullcolumn.com/settings/activity-log),
- let anyone else in, or allow themselves more time.

## Stopping support access

Choose **Stop access now**, then **Stop access** to confirm. If FullColumn support is signed in, they're signed out straight away, and any sign-in link not used yet stops working. Access also ends by itself at the time you chose.

## Seeing when support signed in

**Support sign-ins** lists each time someone from FullColumn signed in to your salon: when, their name and email, and the reason they gave. It says "FullColumn support hasn't signed in" until they have.

**When access was allowed** lists the times support access was given, by whom, until when, and when it was stopped early and by whom.

## Other ways to keep your salon secure

- **Two-step sign-in**: a code from an app on your phone as well as your password. Turn it on in **Settings → My account**, and require it for managers in **Settings → Team & roster**. See [two-step sign-in](https://docs.fullcolumn.com/getting-started/two-step-sign-in).
- **Passkeys**: sign in with Face ID, a fingerprint or a device's screen lock instead, which counts as two-step sign-in. Each person adds their own in **Settings → My account**. See [signing in with a passkey](https://docs.fullcolumn.com/getting-started/passkeys).
- **Permissions**: give each person only what they need, like hiding clients' phone numbers or holding back refunds. See [roles and permissions](https://docs.fullcolumn.com/team/roles-and-permissions).
- **Shared devices**: the front desk iPad signs in with PINs and keeps refunds, settings and exports behind each person's password. See [shared devices, PINs and Front desk](https://docs.fullcolumn.com/team/shared-devices).
- **Everyone chooses their own password**, from a link in their email. Nobody sets one for someone else. See [signing in](https://docs.fullcolumn.com/getting-started/signing-in).
- **Changing your password** in **Settings → My account** signs you out on every other device.

## Common questions

### Can FullColumn see my salon without my permission?

No. FullColumn support can only open your salon while an owner (or someone they've given the permission to) allows it in **Settings → Security**, and every time they do is listed there.

### Does FullColumn support see my clients' details?

While you allow access, support can see what a manager can, which includes your clients, so they can help with your problem. They can't download a copy of your data.

### Can I see what support changed?

Changes support makes are recorded like anyone's, as made by FullColumn support. **Settings → Activity log** shows them all: choose **FullColumn support** in its first list ([the activity log](https://docs.fullcolumn.com/settings/activity-log)). An appointment's history shows who changed it too.

### Does support access still work if my plan has ended?

Yes. You can still let support in, and stop it, while your salon is read only.
